The Alumni Association Congratulates the IHS Class of 2022 on their Graduation and for their outstanding Class and individual achievements. We could not be prouder of, or happier for each of you and we wish you every measure of continuing happiness and success.
Legacy Graduates. Amazingly so, 31 of the 80 graduates (39%) had a mother, father or grandparent who is an IHS graduate.
56 of the graduates (70%) will attend college in Ohio
11 (16%) will attend college out of Ohio
8 (11%) have accepted full time employment
4 will pursue continuing education
1 Enlisted in the United States Army
Ohio colleges are: Kent -10, University of Akron – 7, Ohio University – 7, Ohio State – 4, Cleveland State – 4; Bowling Green, University of Cincinnati and Cuyahoga Community College – 3 each; Case, BW, and Miami University – 2 each; and Heidelberg, John Carroll, Wooster, Ashland, Dennison, Mount Union, Dayton, Stark State, and University of NW Ohio -1 each.
Out of Ohio Colleges not listed Below: University of Kentucky, Indiana State University, University of Tennessee, Pace University, Michigan State, Culinary Institute of America, NY – 1 each.
The Class Valedictorian – Emmett Stralka – will attend the Harvey Mudd College in California studying Engineering and he will be a member the College Track Team.
The Class of 2022 truly made athletic history. A few achievements: earning the 1st District and Conference titles in girls soccer history, making the Elite 8 in the girls and boys soccer, winning a Sectional title in boys basketball for the first time in over 20 years, winning a baseball Conference title and 2 wrestling titles, winning back to back Conference and District titles in boys and girls track with the boys, in their senior year, placing 4th in the State in 4×200, and 7th in the State in the 400; advancing to the State tournament for the 1st time in boys golf history as well as winning back to back to back softball Conference titles. Making 4 straight trips to the State finals in volleyball placing: 2nd, 2nd, 2nd and 2nd in the State! And who will forget the football team beating Cuyahoga Heights at Heights on a kick in the last play of the game!
